Africa Gigsters Refund Policy

At Africa Gigsters, we are committed to creating a fair and secure marketplace for both freelancers and employers. Our refund policy is designed to protect users while ensuring transparency and accountability in all transactions.


1. Overview

All payments made on Africa Gigsters are processed through our secure escrow system, which ensures that funds are protected until agreed work is completed.

Refunds are only issued under specific conditions outlined below.


2. When You Are Eligible for a Refund

For Employers

You may be eligible for a full or partial refund if:

  • The freelancer has not started the project
  • The freelancer fails to deliver work within the agreed timeline
  • The delivered work does not meet the agreed requirements
  • The project is cancelled before any work begins
  • A dispute is raised and resolved in your favor

3. Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be issued in cases where:

  • The freelancer has completed part of the work
  • Some milestones have been delivered and approved
  • The project is cancelled midway

In such cases, payment will be split based on the work completed and approved.


4. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:

  • Work has been completed and approved by the employer
  • The employer fails to respond within a reasonable timeframe after delivery
  • The employer changes project requirements after work has started
  • Payments made outside the Africa Gigsters platform
  • Violations of platform policies

5. Dispute-Based Refunds

If there is a disagreement between a freelancer and an employer:

  1. Either party can initiate a dispute
  2. Both parties must submit evidence (messages, files, agreements)
  3. Our team will review the case objectively
  4. A final decision will be made based on fairness and platform policies

Refunds (if applicable) will be processed according to the dispute outcome.


6. Refund Processing Time

  • Approved refunds are processed within 3–7 business days
  • The time it takes for funds to reflect depends on your payment method
  • Some delays may occur due to banks or third-party payment providers

7. Cancellation Policy

  • Before work begins: Full refund
  • During the project: Partial refund based on completed work
  • After completion and approval: No refund

8. Payment Protection Reminder

To remain eligible for refunds and protection:

  • Always make payments through Africa Gigsters
  • Avoid off-platform transactions
  • Clearly define project scope before starting
